Are Healthy Drinks That Healthy

red bullThe health craze drink is everywhere they are able to help you when you are doing a work out, they contain no artificial colourings or sweeteners, and we are lured into buying these drinks at a cost of 2.8 billion pounds a year, so with something costing so much every year. Are there any actual benefits to drinking these drinks what so ever as far as your health is concerned.

And the main key ingredient of these health drinks is mostly water, the mail on Sunday newspaper did a report to see what health benefits there actually were from drinking these particular health drinks. Which this post is based upon so you will be able to see, if there are any health benefits from drinking these particular health drinks.

Well lets see what the verdicts where.

First we have Red Bull which costs 69 pence per can the prominent ingredient within Red Bull is caffeine, caffeine is an extract from cocoa beans, and acts as a stimulant on your body, caffeine is noted to have cognitive effects which improve brain function, and also can affect your sports performance which will give you better endurance. I wouldn’t suggest that using Red Bull would help you losing weight but may be of use when, you’re doing a workout for a certain amount of time.

The only one particular problem of drinking excess amounts of caffeine, is that you may have trouble getting to sleep at night but that the is the only real bad side effect. Personally I feel that a lot of these so-called sports drinks leave a lot to be desired and you could probably get the same effect, from drinking something else which would cost less. These are merely just marketed to a core market of people who sorely believe in the health benefits of these drinks, but obviously the manufacturers do realise that there is a need so fulfil it.

Next is Purdeys multivitamin drink which costs 82p. A key ingredient within this drink is something called damiana, which is supposed to help with weight loss, a study was based around the herb damiana, and there was links to weight loss. This particular herb is supposed to help this process by boosting your metabolism, and making you feel fuller which in turn will help you to lose weight.

Another ingredient in this particular drink is ginseng, which is supposed to help with alleviating symptoms of stress, apart from that there wasn’t any other particular ingredients, which were anything to get excited about. So you are probably better off saving your money and just watching what you eat. Next up is something called naked superfood this costs £2.30p, which is quite a lot for a health drink, this has things like apple juice and one of two other key ingredients, such as mango, pineapple and garlic. But apart from that there isn’t much else that is anything of real great health benefit.

Especially when you consider the price you could probably make something similar using a blender and some fruits, or using a juicer instead, so you might be better off passing this off and making your own smoothie. Next is firefly natural £1.49. This contains water and natural fruit juices, and some weight loss ingredients namely yerba mate and gurana, and and also contains ginseng which is supposed to help with relieving mental stress. But apart from that nothing particularly fantastic or special with this particular drink either.

Next is big shotz £1.49, this contains water fruit juice from various fruits which include, mango, passionfruit and quite a few other ingredients, as well as lots of vitamins, so from a nutritional standpoint of view. It is quite healthy compared to some of the others that have been mentioned in this article. But then again you could probably get all the essential vitamins and minerals, from everyday foods that you eat as long as you eat plenty of vegetables, you could probably dispense with this product as well. Unless you need to supplement your diet for some reason or another, it might be quite beneficial to expectant mothers.

Next up is something called sip £1.29. This contains water, fruit juice concentrate, and some herb extracts, this drink also contains vitamin C. but apart from that there is nothing else really beneficial from it or in it that matter, the original source of this article will send you would be better off eating a range instead.

So overall I would say that my verdict is if you feel that you really do need to, try these drinks by all means do so but to me they do seem rather expensive for what they are.You don’t need to spend lots of money to become healthy especially by buying a designer health drink which is really what these are.

Make your own smoothies using fresh fruit or vegetables which ever you prefer it doesn’t matter. And save yourself some money. Is it any wonder that things like these become such a big industry because we are very much a health obsessed society.
