Does Fruit Make you Fat ? And is it Making us More Obese.

Try not to be put off by what is being written in the headline of this particular post, because it’s a case of just reading on and see what is being said.

So please don’t try to get too alarmed and judge for yourself what is being said. Scientists have come to the conclusion that the sugar that is found in fruit is making people more obese.

The study found that fructose which is used in drinks that you buy from supermarkets and or shops, and also is put into junk food (processed food) in the study participants were given large quantities of fructose, contain within drinks and/or food and, were found to put weight on around there abdomen area.

Compared to other participants who were given glucose to drink and/or eat, healthcare specialists say that this particular type of abdominal fat is linked to diseases such as diabetes and also the possibility of contracting heart disease later on in life.

Fructose can be found in things like jam and other fruits however it can be included into other foods that we eat such as corn syrup there has been a lot of concern for quite a great deal of time now, about fructose corn syrup, and how it can affect our bodies were.

Scientists seem to believe that this is one thing that is fuelling the crisis within the UK as far as you obesity is concerned.

In the United States some research was done where, 33 participants were put on a diet which comprised of carbohydrate and protein etc.

Then after a few weeks they had fructose foods and products added to their diets to see what difference was made.

Both of the groups that were monitored gained weight but the interesting thing is that, the group that was on the food and high sugar diet which came from fructose had more abdominal fat than the other group, and interestingly enough had higher levels of cholesterol as well.

In another completely different study a test was done where most of the food and drink that the participants consumed, to see what difference there would be in blood sugar levels after eating one meal.

And it was found that with those meals which contain high levels of fructose, and fructose corn syrup the results were similar bit as before.

This does not mean to say that we should not eat fruit but serves as a warning that, if you are buying fruit juice that is processed or and/or manufactured it could possibly contain high levels of fructose than is needed.

And it’s probably a good idea to look at the food that you are eating to see if it contains any excess fructose as well.

Fresh fruit by comparison contains relatively low levels of fructose, all this does show and prove is that the food that is manufactured or processed tends to contain high levels of things that can in fact make us more overweight at the end of the day.

I myself think that as people we don’t tend to pay much attention at times to what it is that we are actually buying. Is it not better to just too stick to fresh fruit, and vegetables and forget about all the prepackaged foods that we can buy which as we can see are doing us no good whatsoever.

Food these days is a multi-million pound business and the people that manufacture it or only interested in one thing and one thing only money nothing more nothing less.

And food advertising is in abundance these days it is everywhere even though you may not be consciously aware of it.
