Eat a Big Carbohydrate Breakfast and Lose More Weight

Eating too many carbohydrates in your diet is something that tends to be frowned upon by a lot of people, but I would say from my point of view that everything in moderation is the way to go.

Lots of people have tried the Atkins diet, for some people it works and others it doesn’t.

However some research that has come to light now suggests it’s better to have a breakfast that is brimming with carbohydrates, then followed this with a low carbohydrate, low calorie eating plan for the rest of the day or week which ever you tend to prefer.

The reason this particular diet works from what they say is it knocks cravings on the head, so you don’t crave sweets and other calorie laden foods throughout the day.

Dr. Daniela Jakubowicz says that she has been using this diet on her patients now for about 15 years or so, she says that going on a low carb carbohydrate diet, has the opposite effect to what it should do it increases cravings for carbohydrates, and slows your metabolism down at the same time.

Hence you tend to gain weight again which is defeating the object when comparisons were done of two separate groups of people, one eating a high carbohydrate big breakfast, while the other group ate a low carbohydrate breakfast.

The study was revolved around 94 sedentary women whom were obese, both diets were low-fat but the only difference as we stated abroad was the carbohydrate difference.

The group of women who were on the lesser carbohydrate diet consumed 1085 calories, which when broken down into food groups, came out as the following protein was 51 grams, carbohydrate was 17 grams and 70 grams of fat.

The group that were on the low carbohydrate breakfast only had seven grams of it in their breakfast, and were only allowed to eat 12 grams of protein as well.

The second group whom were on the higher intake of carbohydrate, had a overall calorie intake of 1240 calories per day, which broken down into groups was as follows carbohydrates 97 grams, total fat was 46 grams.

When they ate their breakfast they had 97 grams of carbohydrate which is considering more than the other group did eat for breakfast, and had protein of 93 grams.

The two groups were monitored over a four-month period after which there wasn’t much between the groups weight loss one group lost 28 pounds, and the other group lost 23 pounds, so there was five pounds between the two groups.

The group which lost most weight at this particular juncture was the high carbohydrate breakfast group,now after eight weeks this is where it gets quite interesting.

The group which was on the low carb breakfast now started to gainweight eighteen pounds approximately, which is quite a substantial amount of weight when you think about it.

However the other group continued to lose weight they shed another 16.5 pounds, according to what the researchers said the women who ate the big breakfast which had more carbohydrate in it said they felt less hungry throughout the day,and had fewer carb cravings.

So have a high carbohydrate breakfast and then eat fewer carbohydrates throughout the day, and you should see some good results according to what this study says.
