Following on from the other day’s post which was entitled how to prevent body inflammation. It seemed like a good idea to have a list of foods that you can eat, which will help to prevent it from happening to yourself, so here it is.
Broccoli
Has quite a lot of health properties, in particular, it is very high in vitamin C, And if you remember, I wrote a post the other day about people losing weight by having a supplement of vitamin C. So broccoli, all in all, is a good choice.
Hemp oil
Alternatively, anything similar, that has plenty of Omega three fatty acids in.
Salmon
This is another great way to get a high dosage of Omega three fatty acids, one thing you do need to make sure of is that it is wild salmon. And not farmed salmon, otherwise the quality of it won’t be as good as wild salmon.
Another reason for eating salmon, is it’s a very good source of protein, which will help you to keep carbohydrate cravings to a minimum.
The reason for this is because protein takes longer to be digested in your stomach. And as a result of this your blood sugar will remain more stable, one of the keys to keeping inflammation under control, is keeping the amount of insulin down in your body to a minimum throughout the day.
Tart cherries
These are the nearest thing that you can get to a natural aspirin. They will also help the prevention of metabolic syndrome, which encompasses things like heart disease as well as this. They can help with the following diabetes, arthritis, gout, muscle pain, and back pain. Tart cherries have very good properties when it comes to prevention of oxidative stress. As they are very high in antioxidants.
Walnuts
I spoke about these in a post the other week, which was entitled five health benefits of eating walnuts if you want to get the best bang for your buck from walnuts it is recommended to soak them.
This releases their enzyme inhibitors. This will help your body to digest them easier. Walnuts are high in Omega three fatty acids and Omega six fatty acids, which all help to prevent inflammation. Plus they are another good source of protein.
Onions and garlic
Garlic contains sulphur, which helps to stimulate your immune system in order to fight viruses, etc. Onions contain a substance called quercetin, which is a powerful antioxidant.
Pineapple
Has a substance called bromelain within it. This helps with giving your immune system a bit of a boost, which is natural and not forced.
Spinach
This green vegetable has something called carotenoids in it. This is a powerful antioxidant, which helps to reduce inflammation. It also contains vitamin E.
Ginger and turmeric
If you’re a fan of curry and lucky enough to have these two ingredients in, then this will help you in your battle with inflammation turmeric contains something called curcumin, which helps with prevention of it. Ginger is said to have similar properties also. If you can think of any additional foods that could be added to this list, then, please leave your thoughts and opinions in the relevant section below.
