Health Benefits of Being Vegetarian

Sometimes we can balk at the idea of becoming a vegetarian but it’s a matter of personal choice, as regards to what we eat, personally from my point of view I think you can manage without meat, most of what we eat is born out of habit and observing others, please see my you are what eat post for more information regarding that.
The main points as regard to this are most vegetarian foods are very calorie dense look how many calories are in a salad some are about 65 calories per half salad or 130 cal for all off it. Which is nothing calorie wise it’s easy to see why there aren’t many fat overweight obese vegetarian’s and over all they are more healthier. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t a meat eater bashing post just stating the facts I eat meat but can honestly say that I wouldn’t miss eating it if it wasn’t available anymore.
I eat fish and chicken and some brown meat but it’s not something that I crave, most of my diet comprises of salad and soup etc it suits me fine. There have been some studies regarding the health benefits of being a vegetarian of which I’ll list here for you.
- Studies show that some of the most life threatening diseases escape vegetarian’s namely less likely to get heart disease, colon problems, diabetes, high blood pressure , and your far more likely to be overweight if your not a vegetarian.
- Far less likely to have high levels of cholesterol as a compared to a meat eater studies have shown this.
- You tend to eat more photochemical’s when your a vegetarian which mops up free radicals within your body they de-tox you where as meat doesn’t.
- Even though meat is a good source of protein you can eat to much and have bone problems later on in life.
