What is RSS
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or it is a method by which websites are able to use to publish content online which can contain links images, video and audio. A lot of sites have this facility mainly to give the user a more a more ease-of-use experience,there are quite a few ways in which you can subscribe to a RSS feed whether it be on blog or a website. The main reason this is so useful is because you have access to a lot of information all in one place.
This can be very useful if you are interested in a particular subject say for instance fishing there might be about ten blogs, that have information on them regarding fishing going to each and every one of those in a web browser may get quite tedious after a time, so what you do is set up an account say on a site such as bloglines where you can keep all your RSS feeds in one place for easy access and reading, this will save you heaps of time when it comes to looking through the posts coming from a particular site or blog.
If you’re quite new to the Internet you may have seen quite a few websites with the red-and-white orange icon on and not even know what it meant once you get to know how to use RSS it is very easy to implement and use there desktop clients, that you can use such as one called Feed Demon which I use, which is a very powerful client to use or there are other plenty of free wants to use online.
If you use a web browser like Firefox than when you are browsing this site you will notice at the top in the navugation bar a red icon has stripes on it. All you need to do is click on that, and which ever service or client you are subscribed to it will drop the RSS feed into your RSS feed reader depending on which type you use.
Now also the good thing about RSS feeds is that you can if you have a blog submit your RSS feed to directories and RSS feed search engines which should help with your subscriptions to your site or blog.
The great thing about RSS is that what you will update your site or blog everybody knows about it and if you make money online that is a good thing.
