Does Low Self-Esteem Cause Weight Gain Later on in Life?

2459020872_607513a54c[1]For one reason or another at some stage in our lives, some of us do or do not whichever the case may, be end up being overweight or in extreme cases obese. There can be many reasons for this lots of people eat to much food for lots of different reasons, they may be bored, depressed etc and we can tend to seek comfort in food.

One of the reasons is we are programmed to eat food because it makes us feel good. This is why it is very easy to become a comfort food eater, but what other mechanisms could cause this, would having low self-esteem have the same effect? A study of 6,500 people found that 10-year-olds, who had emotional problems when they were younger, were far more likely to become obese or overweight as adults.

The researchers, who did the study, would not commit themselves to saying that being emotional alone was a contributing factor, but it was certainly something that may cause it, however they can play a role as well. As a lack of exercise eating the wrong foods and any other things added to the mix.

The children who took part in the study had their weight measured, and were asked how they were feeling as regards their emotions. They tracked their progress until they were 30 years old. The researcher’s said that those who felt less in control of their lives were far more likely to worry and, would be far more likely to end up gaining weight. Apparently, girls are more affected by these issues than boys.

They said in the future to prevent this from happening children need to be aware of how they are feeling, and intervention is important to combat any anxiety or any other emotional problems to stop people ending up this way in the future.

Having low self-esteem is something that can be altered over time. It is quite surprising the amount of things that can it can lead to many addictions can be the root of low self-esteem.

Can Yoga Help With Food Choices and Weight Loss?

yogaPeople who practice yoga regularly become mindful with their choices of food and what they eat, and because of this are far less likely to become obese.

These are the findings of a study, put together at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer research Centre, in the United States .

The reason the study came about was findings that became known almost four years ago. The initial findings were for people whom were overweight; they were far more likely to lose weight. If doing yoga, this would prevent the normal middle age spread that people tend to get as they get older.

These were the benefits for people whom regularly practiced yoga. Although the researchers did not quite know why the yoga was helping the participants, they came to the conclusion it was more to do with the actual doing of yoga, but not the exercise that you get from it.

The researchers concluded that it was more to do with actual body awareness more than anything else was, which was creating the effect. A follow-up study confirmed their suspicions, which published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, in August.

They say that the research that they did found that people, whom practiced yoga for a period of 10 years, did in fact gain less weight. Than those whom did no yoga at all.

This confirmed everything they thought, they didn’t add any other factors to the research either such as physical activity and what they ate. They concluded that yoga makes you more mindful about food choices, and once you have eaten enough and feel full then you will stop eating. Whereas if you are a non-mindful, eater then you just eat whatever you want and don’t consciously think about it.

This could be because you either have some anxiety related issues or may be depressed. It is very easy to eat more food when you. Could be either stressed or depressed because you are eating with your emotions.

One of the researchers involved in this particular research, who has been interested in Yoga for a number of years now, says that because of the way that you have to, stretch your body into various different positions and keep relaxed at the same time is one of the reasons why it brings about the mindfulness.

It is this actual inner calmness that makes us more focused when it comes to eating, so instead of making choices of foods with our emotions we make choices with rational thinking. In turn we make better choices, here is something to think about? Have you ever noticed that when you may be having a bad day you can tend to turn towards food for comfort?

To finish this off they, did a questionnaire, and some of the factors that were in it are a small summary below so you can see it. This questionnaire, distributed to 300 people in order to find out whether or not as a conclusion, that yoga does affect mindfulness with regard to eating.

  • Being distracted, doing other things whilst eating food
  • Overall awareness of food seeing how it looks, tastes smells, and overall texture
  • External influences, such as advertising, eating in unison when it’s being displayed
  • Emotional eating, you tend to eat when you’re either stressed or depressed
  • Being full, you still tend to eat even though you are full

When the results came back 40 percent of the people whom filled the questionnaire in practiced yoga for approximately one hour per week, 46 percent of them walked for 90 minutes a week as exercise, and 50 percent of them or more did some sort of physical activity for 90 minutes which was either vigorous or moderate in nature.

Of the ones that had a higher mindfulness score as they called it were the people that had a lesser BMI and the overall conclusion was that. The people whom did the yoga had a better overall BMI than those who did not.

So yoga it would seem has the thumbs up and it doesn’t look as if you have to practice it a awful lot to become mindful yourself. So this is something that you could incorporate into your weight loss plan in order to double the effectiveness of it.

Reasons Why Obese People Eat More Food

obeseObese people tend to be pigeonholed a lot by various studies etc, that basically say the reason they end up the way they do is because, of the amount of food they eat this is all true to a certain extent. But just recently some new research has shed some light on one of the reasons why this may be. From what has been found from the study is that obese people’s brains react differently, than those of thin people their brains tend to be more sluggish.

When it comes to their brain receiving the full signal and hence they stop eating. Apparently obese people have to eat more food in order to feel satisfied, so this is one of the reasons why obese people probably eat more food and struggle to lose weight, a study was conducted around some young women and girls and they were given what was called highly palatable food namely a “chocolate milkshake”.

They found that in obese people the neuro-transmitter chemical dopamine, is far less active in a obese person so hence they tend to eat more until they get the satisfied feeling. It was found that it was more so pronounced in women who were born with a gene, that makes a reduction in their dopamine production by at least 30 to 40 percent, their brains showed a real numbing effect as far as dopamine production was concerned. And were found to gain weight within a one period time frame.

What the researchers say about this study is that they may be able to, make drugs that turn on the dopamine response more and in the future this will stop people from gaining weight. They focused their research on a part of the brain called the dorsal stratum which is a reward part of the brain as regards food, it’s a part of the brain that features heavily in anything that makes us feel good it’s all the same neural pathways that are used.

Whether it be eating a nice meal, having a drink of alcohol, spending some money on something you really like, this is all part of the same neural pathway that gives us the same reward feeling. The reason they used chocolate for their particular research is because is one of the singlest most craved foods.

The first part of the study involved 43 females between 18 and 22 years of age and the second was 33 girls in the age group 14 to 18, they were scanned whilst drinking the chocolate or a non-chocolate drink, using aMRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanner, to see what particular effects were found from drinking the chocolate.

This is when they found the breakthrough when they compared results there it was, when scanning a obese person who had drunk the milkshake, there was a blunting of the brain compared to those whom were thinner.And those people who had the blunting effect were far more likely to gain weight over a longer period of time.

What what they managed to gain from this is if you eat a diet which is high in fat and sugar, then your reward receptors in your brain gradually stop working as they would do, if you were a drug addict, or alcoholic you have to consume more of the particular drug. Or whatever it is that gives you the reward because after a period of time it no longer works the amount of dopamine that your back brain produces becomes a lot less. So in the case of food you have to eat far more of it to get the reward signal feeling and this is why obese people eat more food.

So this is why it’s important to not eat those particular foods that are high in sugar and fat, because then your reward mechanism will stay as it should do and is far less likely to become faulty and make you over eat. One of the researchers says that if you are eating fast-food every day of the week, then if you cut that out it would probably take about one to two months before you would notice any difference in cravings. Although this research was conducted mainly on women the people who conducted it said that it would probably the same for men.

This must be one of the most groundbreaking studies that have been done as far as obesity is concerned, and really thinking about it it does make sense, if you’re not getting a rewarding feeling from the food that you eat then it’s obvious that you’re going to eat more of them. This probably has a link with comfort eating because in order to get that reward feeling then you do have to eat more chocolate or sweet type, foods in order to feel satisfied hence the reason you get addicted to them and gain excess weight. Can Exercise Alter Obesity Genes

dna_500Trying to lose weight is one of the hardest things to accomplish sometimes for some people, especially when you have genetics up against you as well, but now some evidence has come to light that was done by a University of research in Maryland USA.

That suggests that exercise can now change this somewhat, they did a study of Amish people, both men and women a total of 704 participated in the study, it was found that some people had the particular gene which was associated with being overweight and or obese which is called FTO, Europeans about half of them tend to have a variation of this gene.

The participants who had to different variants of this particular gene were far more likely to be overweight and tended to be seven pounds more heavier than those people who didn’t have it those who had to variants of it were 67 percent more likely to become overweight or obese than those who didn’t have it.

But the researchers found that there was another group although they shared the same characteristics, as the ones to have the two variants of the gene, for some reason wasn’t fat unlike their counterparts, so what was it that was different between the two different groups in a nutshell it was exercise that separated them.

There is a twist to the story though, those who did manage to defeat their genes managed to burn a staggering 900 calories more than those who did moderate exercise for two to three hours a day. That’s an awful lot when you think about it comparing the two.

In another trial which was done by Danish people they found that those whom had the FTO to variants gene, had to do far less exercise than their counterparts in order to lose weight, so what can we actually take away from this research, it means that even if you do have problems and they are genetically related some simple exercise will put you on the right track all this tends to do is reinforce what is being said.

So when the excuse comes it’s to do with my DNA I am afraid it is no longer valid any more in order to lose weight effectively than you do need to do plenty of exercise otherwise you won’t accomplish what you want to do ultimately. And this just reinforces it yet again. Although it just goes to show that even genes can be altered by simple changes to our lifestyles.

Can The Environment Make You Fat

2291852803_0a4468ccfc_m[1]Or are there any actual links to being obese or overweight that are connected with our environment? it would seem that a new study that was done in Spain has thrown up some very interesting issues as far as children and the actual environment they are brought up in.

It argues that the actual pollutional environment that the child is actually brought up in as regards to chemicals, which it gets contaminated with whilst in the womb. Quite a lot of adults and children in the United Kingdom are now obese.

And the world over there are 300 million obese people worldwide, and the explanation that we get over and over again is that it’s merely down to the amount of calories that we are consuming, and also a lack of exercise.

People the world over are now beginning to question whether, or not it is actually the case of the latter which is actually causing the problem as a whole, for a long time now it has been known that some people genetically do have slower metabolisms than others do.

The new study which was done in Barcelona is now suggesting that, there may be other causes to the worldwide epidemic of obesity which shows no sign of decline, during the study some levels of a particular pesticide were measured namely hexachlorobenzene, 403 children were actually tested for the levels of this particular pesticide.

The actual ones that had large levels of the particular toxin were far more likely to become obese later on in life, this particular pesticide has now been banned from use, but still can get into the environment and thus find it’s way into food.

The overall idea of the study was to not blame one particular pesticide, per se but just to prove that there was an actual course in effect namely that this particular pesticide did in fact cause problems. You have to face up to facts here having crops sprayed with pesticides, means that you are putting foreign substances into your body.

None of us really actually know the amount of concentration that is used when spraying crops, the mere fact stands that we are putting something into our body that it doesn’t need.

Other experiments which have been conducted on animals, that have been fed with particular pollutants, have also been found to produce offspring that become obese later on, when they have started to grow.

In the evidence that was found in the Spanish study, HCB as it is known as, they couldn’t actually find a particular reason as to why the mother’s offspring started to become obese, they put it down to the fact that the pesticide could have made the mother become diabetic.

And this was the overall cause of the problem, a well-known expert in these areas, namely Dr Myers who is a well-known scientist at, the Environmental Health Service’s in the USA, says that although these findings are very interesting and there does seem to be some sort of link.

From what has been found by all of the studies he say’s that there could be other explanations for these particular problems which have been occurring with mothers and their offspring, one of the toxins produces obesogens which tend to build up in pregnant mothers and can alter cell structure and turn things on and off, such as stem cells. If stem cells are turned off this in turn will turn stem cells into fat cells.

So why are we actually still getting fatter The same things keep coming round and round again we tend to eat more calories than we need, hence we gain weight, eating up a poor diet high in sugar and saturated fat.

However now scientists are beginning to overturn this particular notion and argue ar that there may be other factors that are causing our ever-increasing obesity epidemic, the Independent on Sunday last week stated that, as people there has been no actual downturn in the amount of physical activity that we did from now, and from the year 1980.

But obesity has still tended to skyrocket out of control and shows no signs of stopping either, genetic factors also are being thrown out the window as well, and other things are now being looked into as to what is causing our ever overweight growing population.

Could it be due to some of the other factors it’s been stated that either on the way to overweight babies, can still become obese later on in life, and mothers who have their babies later on in life are more likely to have obese babies.

Having a lack of sleep you are far more likely to gain weight this applies in adults and both children,we burn more calories.

When we are colder we burn more calories, than if we are warmer, due to the fact of how efficient modern heating systems are whether, it be gas electric or modern central heating, we are far less likely to want to go outside and go for a walk or do some kind of exercise, when we can stay inside and keep warm. Lots of prescription drugs these days can cause weight gain.

For all we know there could be many other contributing factors as to why we have they ever increasing population of overweight obese adults, I dare say that we now even just beginning to scratch the surface of what is causing this rise in obesity rates the world over.

Because wa are spoonfed the same information over and over again we tend to think that that must be the overall cause and that is it, nothing else could be causing is to become overweight apart from what we are eating, some people no matter what they do, can’t lose weight.

They have to resort to having things like stomach tucks or having a gastric bypass operation, so what we have here is some alternative reasons as to why they may be other factors involving becoming obese rather than the normal ones we hear over and over again.

It would be interesting to get some feedback about this particular issue in hand and see what other people think please let me know if you think that there are other factors, which are keeping people overweight. Or are we simply becoming genetic mutants by the foods that we are eating, and the enviroment with which we are bought up in.

Who are The Fattest Counties In Britain and Why

A recent study which involved obesity has been compiled which shows the United Kingdom’s most fattest counties, it has been nicknamed the fat map of the UK . The Shetland Islands, Wales and Barnsley are saying as being where the biggest part of the problem tends to lie places where it isn’t such a problem is mostly down south for example Brighton and London .

Where I live it doesn’t seem to be as bad in the East Midlands but the further west you go, and South the problem seems more prominent in those particular areas.

There are many concerns now because this is going to put a tremendous strain on our ever-growing overburdened health system if this carries on then obesity will cost us in the region of £50 billion a year by the year 2010, we could be looking at a figure of 12 million obese adults. Which is quite surprising when you think about it that is an awful lot of people that are going to have problems with their health in the long-term if they don’t do something about their weight problem.

So you can see where the problem actually lies red areas are where the problem is worse.

It is quite interesting to see that this particular problem isn’t in one particular area, and that is more prevalent in certain parts of the country than others, I suppose the only reason for this is presumably it must be the diet they are eating. A recent report in a newspaper was published that said it could be due to the fact of some other foods or type of foods that they are eating.

Which were noted as being a regional foods e.g. black pudding. Those regional foods are listed below with their calories this doesn’t necessarily mean to say that, this could be the overall problem of why people are obese in these particular counties within the UK but might give us an idea that if this the case or not.  

Scotland 

They like to eat deep-fried Mars bars which originated in Stonehaven,which is in Aberdeenshire. A 65g Mars bar contains the following calories and fat 307 cal and 11 g of fat. Now if you deep Fry one of these this will add a further 200 calories, and it goes without saying how much fat could get added to this as well by deep frying it. Could this be one of the reasons that Scottish people do tend to be overweight a bit as we know some of the hot spots on the map show a bit of a problem up there. Just maybe this is one of the reasons why.

Yorkshire 

They like to eat something called the Yorkshire parking this consists of lard ginger and some golden syrup it is brimming full of sugar carbohydrates and fat. One slice of this may contain up to 500 calories with 15 grams of fat.

Wales 

Now interestingly in North Wales namely Anglesey which was in the top 20 at position 16 on the fat map, they like to eat Welsh rarebit, this is made up of ale, cheese, butter and egg yolk which is served on toasted white bread this contains up to 415 calories and may have 32 grams of fat.

Midlands 

They like to indulge in something called Bakewell tarts which originates from the Derby village, these particular tarts which are made from Cherry and almonds and are chock-a-block of fat and calories, they contain something in the region of 400 calories and 35 grams of fat per tart.

London 

They like something called Cockney pie mash pie and liquor, which consists of stodgy pastry, some meat filling and high starch mash which is made with butter,which adds up to a whopping 1000 calories.

North West They like to eat something called black puddings which are made from congealed pig’s blood, which sounds awful to me the only one good thing about this particular dish is the calorie content isn’t that high. But research has suggested that it could be a cause for bowel cancer which is one of the things I spoke about recently when eating breakfast some people do tend to have black pudding for their breakfast.  

The South West They like to eat something called lardy cake which is from Wiltshire this sounds like a health horror story, in itself one of these cakes consists of lard and sugar and wait for it contains a whopping 2000 calories and 160 grams of fat sounds lovely doesn’t it, eat one of those the day and you will take in your daily calories for a day, but your ability to gain weight will be phenomenal.

Northern Ireland They like to have something called a Ulster Fry which is a fry up but bigger, it consists of bacon, sausages, tomatoes, fried egg mushrooms which are served with a potato bread and soda which is a bread which is made from buttermilk, this adds up to 1000 calories and 80 grams of fat. So another fatty feast for you people in Northern Ireland .

When you examine all the data from this post is it merely because we are as British people very traditional in what we eat, and has this been passed down through generations so that we pass it on to our children who then become programmed to it eat the same traditional dishes and this is one of the reasons why some of these areas do have a problem with their weight.

Can You Be Fat and Fit ?

214417412_545e78ce03[1]People who are overweight are often labeled as being lazy or unfit, but now it seems that conventional wisdom is being overturned as far as this particular aspect is concerned. What has been said recently in health circles is that we are becoming far too obsessed with being overweight and the state of our health. And that we are being slightly missed lead to some extent, by following conventional wisdom.

A report which was released by the Archives of Internal Medicine, did a comparison of people regarding potential heart health risks, and also took their weight into consideration.

When the data came back it showed that even though some people were overweight, metabolically they were quite healthy, so just because you are overweight it doesn’t mean you can’t be healthy at the same time, but we must stress a point here.

This does not mean to say that you can go out and stuff yourself with food and think to yourself I am now healthy even though I am overweight, because there is more to this as we shall see.

The study compared 5,400 people and took into consideration their actual weight and possible risk of cardiovascular disease, and it was found being metabolically healthier even though they were overweight, they had lower levels of cholesterol, their blood pressure was good and their blood glucose levels were good as well.

Interestingly they found that even thin people which they said was about one in four, who were said to have a healthy weight, were typically found to have two risk factors which can be associated with heart disease (cardiovascular). As we all well know there are lots of health factors, which are related with being overweight or obese, such as diabetes, short-term mortality.

And now even as the latest research shows that these people are far more likely to have some sort of health problem which will be related to their heart whether it be high cholesterol and or blood pressure, but the researchers were quite surprised when doing their research of the amount of obese and overweight people who in fact to quote in their words were metabolically healthy.

“We use ‘overweight’ almost indiscriminately sometimes,” said Mary Fran Sowers, a co-author of the study and professor of epidemiology at the University of Michigan . “But there is lots of individual variation within that, and we need to be cognizant of that as we think about what our health messages should be.”

This was followed by a report that came out last autumn that stated people who are overweight can actually have longer lives than their normal weight counterparts. This actual report created quite a lot of controversy amongst the health fraternity claiming it was very inaccurate what the data presented. Saying it hid the fact that people whom are over weight or obese are at a far more higher risk of suffering from a heart related health problem than people who are thin. The people who criticized it said it didn’t correlate with what the mortality statistics said.

One of the problems seems to be our distorted perception of what it means to be overweight or obese, the most well-known way of judging whether a person is overweight or obese is by using a measure of something called body mass index or BMI for short.

This is supposed to be one of the most accurate way’s of determining if somebody is overweight or obese or not, it works on a method by measuring your height combined with your weight and then a figure is calculated which is your BMI . < 25 and you’re considered to be healthy > 25 then you’re considered to be overweight > 30 then your now in the obese category.

Katherine Flegal who did the study for the CDC which was the one that came out in autumn which was very heavily criticized, said that they found, even though people whom had a BMI of 25 and whom were thought to be big would still have health problems largely because of their size and of course there BMI .

Some research which was put together in Dallas, which used treadmills in order to see how people compared with each other, said that the performance that people gave was a far better indicator of being fit than relying on body mass index purely on its own.

The people who were able to sustain themselves for longer on the treadmill taken into consideration even though they were overweight, were found to have a lot lower risk of heart disease compared to thinner people whom were unfit.

In December some statistics were brought up to correlate with these findings they looked at the mortality rates of 2,600 adults of 60 years age and older, and this was done over a 12 year monitoring period, the ones having a BMI of between 25 and 30, and this is where it gets really interesting were slightly lower than people who had a normal weight.

Mortality rates were considerably higher for those people who were in the bracket of aBMI of 35 or more, but here is the most interesting aspect of all of this whole thing is, the people whom had the lowest fitness were far more likely to die earlier despite their weight, than those with poor fitness.

So it just goes to show and prove that no matter what weight you are, even doing some form of fitness training you will reap the rewards no matter what, when they were conducting the test on the treadmill it was quite simplistic how they did it.

The treadmill was set to go at a reasonable pace and the increment was done every so often, in order for somebody to become qualified as being fit all they needed, to do was stay on the treadmill for eight minutes, women had a lower rate of five and half minutes.

The participants who couldn’t manage to stay on at all were put in a group of those at highest risk, they took into consideration things like smoking, any cardiovascular problems which may have occurred in the past, and their conclusion was that overall fitness was a far better indicator of a longer life rather than their weight.

So the moral of this story is don’t really get in a mess if you are overweight, but work towards becoming healthier because as we now know you can be thin and still have health risks if you are unfit.

The overall moral of this particular story is do what works for you and work towards what is best for you ultimately, if you particularly want to weigh less, and do not stop yourself from trying to reach your target weight. Just don’t worry too much about the fact that you are overweight focus on becoming fitter and the two will come together in time.

A Brief History of Obesity

The amount of obese people in the world is currently estimated at being approximately one billion, which is a phenomenal statistic, so where did it all go wrong and how have we become this way, over the years. Hopefully I will be to explain this so obesitywe can see how it has become about.

1. In the 1780’s the steam engine was invented, this was the initial start of transportation, which enabled us to move heavy loads about such as coal raw materials and any other items, and for food transportation also.

2. In the 1820s railways expanded and steamships became operative, due to the innovation of steam transport, food transported around to many parts of different countries cheaply and effectively.

3. In the 1860s, we learn how to make basic preservatives in order to make food last longer.The lightbulb becomes invented we now sleep 8 1/2 hours a night, due to more industrialisation we sleep for seven a half hours.

4. 1903 and Trans fats invented, the beauty of these is that they can say on shelves for months without the food actually going off, and can be transported anywhere without too many problems.

5. 1890s and beyond that the motor car is invented, we now have the ability to travel long distances and meet people, and see all the world’s, without relying on and horses and walking.

6. 1890s in the middle supermarkets start to appear, and processed foods start to appear with various chemicals in in order to preserve them to last longer, these are laden with salt and fat.

7. World War II finishes and world production is now at 50 percent and are growing faster by the minute, something called the Marshall plan is implemented in Europe, which is used for rebuilding and Is used for a model for industrialisation.

8. Superhighways are built, for the ever increasing demand in automobiles/cars because of the versatility of the car railroads end up with us is going in decline.

9. 1950s and television comes to age, why be outside in the cold when you have entertainment in your own home, in the 1990s the average American watches approximately four hours of television per day.

10. 1950s and onwards we now are able to spray crops in order to keep pest down and control food wastage,

11. The 1960s agricultural subsidies are brought in, the American government pays farmers more to encourage food growth, corn which represented 46 percent, can be turned into dextrose, which revolutionises the fast-food industries, and supermarkets as well.

12. American agricultural production now pumps out 2600 calories, which increases to 3200 calories by the late 1980s, this represents double the amount of food that people need in a day, most of the excess calories are contained in packaged processed food and take-away food, soda pop etc.

13. The 1970s the rise of the technological age most of the best paid jobs now involve sitting at a screen, and doing very little else, microwave ovens are invented we can heat up food without doing a great deal else this is where we put our calorie laden high in sugar and fat meals we don’t even need to prepare them or expend any energy to cook our food it’s all done for us.

14. 1960s onwards, urban sprawl happens, the car now replaces rail transport as the most effective means of transport. Sidewalks or pavements now start to get smaller so we can just roll into our cars and go where we want to.

15. 1980’s and beyond whereas at one time we would walk to our place of work we now use our cars instead, we take our children to school in our cars, we go to supermarkets and fill our cars up with bucketloads of food, every week shops are no longer a part of the high Street, at one time of day you would have to walk to go and get your food from your local shop such as fruit and vegetables, but supermarkets eventually brought in the demise of the smaller trader and their food, the food is now put in front of us on shelves for convenience, and in isles which are in categories as it were in order for people to be to be able to find their produce quicker.

16. 1990’s we now use computers more than ever before the Internet starts taking over television as the most popular sitting down activity ever. We now have an abundance of machines that we can use at home that don’t involve much moving about, Playstation’s X-Boxes, etc. People use e-mail in organisations rather than talking to their colleagues or getting up to speak to them, we can now use phones anywhere we want to and see and talk to people for hours and hours, where ever we are, and will be mostly doing this while we are sitting down, in our cars outside at home almost anywhere.

The answer to this is quite simple we do far more or less activity than ever before the old saying goes use it or lose it as human beings we are not designed to be sitting for long periods of time being inactive, the amount of cases of diabetes these days is becoming almost a regular thing. We are becoming very poorly educated as regards food everything is about saving time and not necessarily our own health.

The big problem is with all of this is that due to all of the industrialisation, that we have around us we tend to think that we should just go everywhere in our cars. Rather than walking or buying fresh produce when you look back over this article most of what you see here, is because we have let ourselves become a bit too overcomforted with our lives and relying on technology to do everything for us so in the long run we tend to do less rather than more.
