Worlds Fattest Man uses Diet and Exercise To Lose Weight.!!!!

On my travels through cyberspace this morning, I came across a very inspiring story about the world’s fattest man, and how he managed to lose weight, how he actually managed to do this is incredible to say the least without using what would be the by far the easiest way to lose weight for somebody in his position would be surely to have a gastric bypass operation.

But the man in question decided against it Manuel Uribe 42 from Mexico, for one stage to get ready for this weighed in at an incredible 90 stone that is literally half a ton and this to me is by far the most inspirational part of the story using diet and exercise alone he has managed to shed an incredible 41 stone, this is not only inspirational but somewhat amazing also.

Mr Uribe was recommended to have a gastric bypass operation but refused to the astonishment of his doctors, Mexican doctors put him on a low carbohydrate high protein diet for two years, and has quite literally amazed his doctors by achieving such a phenomenal task in such a short space of time.

He says he is now going to throw a big party to celebrate such a amazing achievement and start going out the house for walks were as before he couldn’t since he began his weight loss journey he has set up a website so people can track his progress online.

In March of this year he will be lifted out of his house on a crane and driven round the streets of his local town he did this before when he reached his 60 stone goal he says he now feels great better than ever so if you’re struggling to lose weight then this must be one of the most inspiring stories you’re probably read in a long time I must say it certainly opened my eyes to what can be done when you put your mind to it in a word I think this is truly an amazing achievement.

Does Being Vegetarian cause Major Weight Loss

Does being vegetarian necessarily mean that you are going to lose lots of weight, myself  I am not a vegetarian but according to a study that has been conducted it does seem to be the case from what they say, overall vegetarians are slimmer than their meat-eating counterparts.

The Facts

Vegetarians health tends to be better than people who eat meat, and they don’t suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and any other diseases which tend to be linked with being overweight, this study however to me seems to make some very bold claims it says that you can achieve weight loss without having to do any exercise which to me seems a bit outlandish to say the least.

The information was compiled from 87 other studies done in the past, obesity is now skyrocketing especially in western civilisations where fast-food joints, are in abundance and as collective nations we are eating more food than ever before.

Overall the weight of vegetarians compared to their meat-eating companions, tends to be quite a big difference, in comparison this is between three and 20% less than somebody who does eat meat, now here’s the part that to me seems quite hard to believe they say that a low-fat vegan diet will help you lose one pound of fat per week, without exercising and doing anything else this also includes not controlling the amount of portions that you eat.

From what they say you can eat unlimited amounts of fruit and vegetables regardless of portion sizes without gaining weight, it goes on to say that the food eaten in a vegetarian diet helps with the fat burning process, also eating vegetables helps with insulin resistance instead of the food being stored as fat it tends to get taken up by the cells and burnt off hence no weight gain.

A team of researchers found that by switching to a vegetarian diet over a period of five years the participants did in fact gain less weight, in another study of 55,000 women found that the ones that ate meat were far more likely to be overweight than those people whom didn’t eat meat.

My Thoughts

Here are my thoughts on this I myself have never tried becoming a vegetarian or vegan for that matter, I was in a relationship once with someone who was a vegetarian and she never seemed to put on any weight perhaps it’s something I could try for a month to see what happens.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress although I must admit I think I will find it quite hard, to switch to eating vegetables and fruit etc. Mind you it would be interesting overall experiment to see what exactly did happen, I could do weekly updates just to see how I feel what difference it makes and so on.

In a post I wrote earlier this week about a program called eat to save your life which was hosted by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, they actually got some sausage meat and put it through a mincer so you could see what came out of it surprisingly there is more fat in sausages than there used to be compared to nowadays, they took a few selections of meat and you could see that today’s farming methods do in fact leave more fat on the meat.

Even chickens are bred this way when you actually look at a chicken it’s hard to tell how much is lean meat and how much isn’t, put on a supermarket shelf you tend to see quite a big piece of chicken which seems good value for money.

This gives the consumer a feeling of that they are getting more for their money when in fact in reality they are not, quite a while back now I wrote a post called how to beat supermarket psychology, in that post there are two videos based around how supermarkets do things, in one of them they actually liquidise a chicken and separate the fat off so you can actually see how much fat there is in a chicken compared to days gone by.

If anybody would like to put forward their argument or point you view regarding this I would be very interested to hear from you do you know anybody who is vegetarian and maintains constant weight ? and you a meat eater and is it harder to lose weight if you are one, comments and thoughts are always welcome please feel free to leave yours.

Five Ways to Stop Hunger Pangs

Do tasks:

1.Have you ever noticed when you’re involved in doing something, whether it be reading a book, or some other very focused activity, you tend to think less about eating food and more about what you’re doing other than eating food I’ve noticed myself that when you tend to be immersed in doing something, foods seems the last thing on your mind but when you’re bored you probably notice, that your head may be in the fridge quite a lot I know mine can be when I’m not doing anything in particular so it does work give it a try and see what you notice.

Drink more water:

2. Sometimes when you feel hungry the actual feedback you’re getting from your body is drink some water, this is also a good thing to do before you eat a main meal it will feel your stomach up and you will eat far less.

Have some vitamins:

3. Sometimes the reasons you can get hungry is because you’re not getting the right amount of vitamins in your diet this can cause hunger pangs for some people, so have a look at your diet and do some research to find out what vitamins you are missing sometimes a supplement is better for some people i.e. vegetarians or vegans.

Prepare snacks:

4. Prepare some healthy food in a small plastic container, so you can take it where ever you go especially when you’re out, fill it with foods that contain water like tomatoes, peppers, grapes oranges so if you do get hungry you have something healthy to eat, and are far less likely to eat something bad for you instead.

Eat some protein:

5. This neat little trick will send the ” am full signal to the brain” also protein takes longer to break down in the stomach, good sources of protein are eggs, fish, beans and cheese preferably low-fat as we know protein has 4 grams per calories whereas fat has 9 calories per gram.

Ever thought of becoming a vegetarian or maybe eve…

Ever thought of becoming a vegetarian or maybe even vegan, why do I say this quite simply this I have been reading a article on Steve Pavlinas blog, about this very thing.

In a nutshell it talks about two stages he went through in his life from eating meat and dairy products, and then switching to a vegetarian diet or way of eating whichever you prefer and then moving over to a strictly vegan diet.

It is quite a interesting read here is the link to the article. here
