Study Finds Clues Why People Over Eat

Scientists have just recently found some really useful clues as to why they think that some people do tend to over eat. The researchers came to the conclusion that it’s down to free radicals in the body in case you don’t know what they are. These are substances that are responsible for destroying cells and ageing. It’s a well-known fact that obesity is increasing the world over.

Just recently in the news in the UK, experts have predicted that over half the population in the UK will be obese in 20 years time. Which is quite a stunning statistic, the scientists looked at brain function that controls, whether we are hungry.

What the researchers found is this. When you have high levels of free radicals in your body it suppresses your appetite. The only problem with this is it’s a bit of a double-edged sword free radicals. As mentioned above damage ourselves and can affect ageing. So really, in effect, it is a fine balancing act.

This is quite a piece of interesting research, because normally we are led to believe that we should be eating plenty of foods that are high in antioxidants, which stop free radicals from damaging our cells. I thought it was worthwhile mentioning this post this as some people might find it quite interesting. If you have any thought’s opinions on this, then, please leave your feedback and comments in the relevant section below.
